ACRYLICS Acrylics (also called acrylic resins, coll. plastics) are solid bodies where the basic components are synthetically or semi-synthetically produced polymers with organic groups. An item out of acrylic consists of millions of very long, twisted molecule chains (polymers) composed of recurring structural units (monomers). The acrylic polypropylene, for example, consists of propylene units that recur several times. One of the outstanding features of acrylics is that their technical features as plasticity, hardness, elasticity as well as fracture, temperature, heat and chemical resistance, can widely vary due to the admixture of additives. We were very surprised that even the flies at the photographic agency got fooled by our acrylics. But after a short period of "meditation" we came to the conclusion that they were just attracted by the natural esthetics. * (source: Wikipedia) |
